Provide creative ways in which everyone gets to know one another in a non-threatening way.   Chetto Bingo is a great way to engage with students as an ice breaker.

Selecting course content

Today it is easy to find Open Educational Resources that can meet the needs of the student and the instructor.  However, it becomes very important to select resources that are of high quality.  

• Pay special attention to the reviews
• Everything that is openly licensed is not always rated well
• Look for the H5P activities
• Make sure you can always supplement with additional high quality Videos

 

 

Professional Development 30 Minutes a day

Because teaching and learning is changing daily.  I suggest that every teacher needs to carve out 30 minutes a day for professional development. 

Different teaching modalities require different strategies
Broadcasting teaching requires the instructor to design information that is clear and concise within the class period. Some of the things to consider are as follows:
How much time is the class?
What is the objective for the class?
Do I have any interactive activities?
Are students receiving information that will help them with the course objectives?
